Artwork GuideHere are a few guidelines for artwork. By following these guidelines, you can reduce your costs as well as eliminate delays in the production of your label. Mac: Programs most commonly used by International Label Mfg. LLC are Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, QuarkXPress. PC: QuarkXPress, Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop, Pagemaker are acceptable. If CorelDraw is used, please follow these directions: Export files as Illustrator (extension .ai). Use the convert text to curves option. DO NOT USE PUBLISHER. We do not have the capabilities to work with Publisher files. Emailing ArtworkIf emailing more than one file, make sure to “Stuff” or “Zip” your files before sending them. Faxing a hard copy with your order, so we can compare the emailed file, is also helpful but not required. For files over 10MB in size please contact us and we will walk you through an easy alternative to emailing large files. Send artwork to art@internationallabelmfg.com. Original Artwork/ScansPhotos should be scanned at 300 dpi. Scanned images should not be enlarged more than 100% unless the resolution is set higher. Example: If you want a photo to be twice as big when printing, the photo should be set to 600dpi. This will keep your printed image from becoming fuzzy and pixelated. Color SpecificationsSpecify PMS numbers on spot color artwork. If you are designing the artwork yourself, setting the art to the specific PMS is helpful, but not required. Just be sure to let us know what Pantone color you need your project printed in. FontsInclude all fonts used in your artwork. Where Postcripts fonts are used, include both printer and screen fonts. Another option is to create outlines around your fonts using a design program. Image AreaMaintain 1/16” margin from dieline for all art, unless a bleed is desired. BleedsBleeds only need to exceed the dieline or cropmarks by 1/8”. Screens/Tints/GradientsScreens can range from 100% to 5%. Anything under 5% may not reproduce correctly. The screen percentage range that reproduces the best is between 10% and 30%. BarcodesBar width reduction should be at .004” when created at 80% or 100%. We do not guarantee scanability of barcodes smaller than 80% scale. |
